Chinese technology to drive SME growth in Punjab

Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Chairman Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf here Tuesday called on Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Mr. Sun Yan. The two leaders engaged in substantive discussions on leveraging cutting-edge Chinese technology to further fortify Punjab’s industrial and commercial sectors. A central focus of the dialogue was the revival and sustainable growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with both sides agreeing that modern Chinese technology and strategic investment would be deployed to infuse new vitality into this vital sector. In a joint expression of resolve, Chairman Ashraf and Consul General Sun Yan vowed to foster deeper linkages between Pakistani and Chinese businessmen. According to both leaders, these enhanced connections are expected to yield a substantial increase in bilateral investment and a significant expansion of business opportunities, directly benefiting Punjab’s economy. Chairman PBIT Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf reaffirmed that robust measures are being taken to translate the Chief Minister’s “Progressive Punjab” mission into tangible reality. He said, “Very soon, new horizons of opportunity will open for Punjab’s business sector and Chinese investors alike. These initiatives will play a pivotal role in the province’s economic ascent.”
