Pakistan’s cotton production for marketing year (MY) 2023/24 is estimated at 6.5 million 480- pound bales

0.6 million bales from last month and 2.6 million bales following last year’s devastating flood. Harvested area is estimated at 2.5 million hectares, up 0.5 mha from last month, and up 0.7 million hectares from last year. This will be the largest cotton planting achieved in several years. Yield is estimated at 566 kilograms per hectare, down 12 percent from last month but up 20 percent from last year.
