Pakistan, China reaffirm commitment to CPEC phase-II

Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to pushing forward the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with a renewed focus on agriculture, industrial cooperation, and priority infrastructure projects, as both sides pledged deeper collaboration and continued economic partnership.

Pak China ties were highlighted during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad, according to a press release issued.

The prime minister appreciated China’s consistent economic support and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and de-escalation, stressing the importance of close coordination on matters of mutual interest.

He congratulated Chinese leadership on the successful conclusion of the “Two Sessions” and thanked Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, and Wang Yi for their Pakistan Day greetings.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, in his remarks, praised Pakistan’s economic resilience and reform efforts, reaffirming China’s continued support, particularly in trade and investment.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over ongoing exchanges and looked forward to high-level engagements to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
