Pakistan’s IT Sector – A “Rising Digital hub”- Well done Team Pakistan

Pakistan’s IT sector has seen a significant surge in recent times. Pakistan has 30,000 IT companies and over 75,000 IT graduates annually. According to Kearney’s 2023 Global Services Location Index, Pakistan is the world’s most financially attractive destination for IT and ITeS outsourcing
Moreover, Pakistan is the fourth fastest-growing country in freelancing with the fourth largest workforce globally
Furthermore, the IT sector is one of Pakistan’s top five export industries.
For instance In FY2024, the IT and ITeS sector achieved a trade surplus of $1,996 million, representing 87.4% of total ICT exports.
Moreover, Pakistani freelancers contributed $350.2 million in foreign exchange remittances.
NICs have incubated over 1,480 startups, with 710 graduating successfully. These startups generated over 128,000 jobs, attracted investments exceeding Rs 23 billion, and reported combined revenues of over Rs 16 billion
Additionally, establishment of Pakistan’s largest Information Technology (IT) Park in Islamabad has been approved under the auspices of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Development of Pakistan Digital City in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aiming to generate $25-50 million in annual exports .
SIFC plans to establish over 10,000 E-Rozgaar centers for freelancers. Introduction of the PayPak Service for seamless foreign payments for freelancers.
Recently 800 delegates and 74 firms from Pakistan’s IT sector attended LEAP 2024 in Riyadh, KSA.
Moreover, Pakistan’s top 10 creative enterprises, expert and delegates, participated in the Tech Destination Pakistan at Toronto from 17–20 June 2024.
European companies are increasingly interested in investing in Pakistan’s IT sector- Czech software company IceWarp plans to establish a data center in Karachi in partnership with local software firm Hexalyze
