Effective measures to boost exports among Govt’s priorities: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said effective policy measures to boost exports and domestic production of industrial goods are amongst the government’s priorities.
He was chairing a review meeting in Islamabad today on sectoral reforms and policy measures aimed at enhancing investment and promoting overall economic growth.
Shehbaz Sharif said the promotion of industry and manufacturing, along with an increase in foreign investment is essential for the sustainable growth of the national economy.
The Prime Minister emphasized that reforms in industry, trade and various sectors of the economy should focus on long-term economic benefits and public welfare.
He said efforts are underway to formulate a comprehensive strategy for meeting future energy requirements through alternative energy sources.
The Prime Minister noted that a comprehensive and effective Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy is the need of the hour to ensure energy conservation and affordable transportation in the country.
He stressed that all ministries should work in close coordination and harmony to formulate and implement effective development policies.
The Prime Minister said administrative transparency and optimum performance in all reforms and initiatives remain the government’s foremost priority.
