Green Revolution – Transforming Pakistan
1.Exciting times for agriculture in Sindh; The government is on a mission to usher in a ‘green revolution’. Their strategy? Boosting food security through increased investment, modern financial methods, and collaboration with both local and international partners
2.Government of Sindh is eyeing unused lands for corporate agriculture and livestock activities, aiming to spur domestic businesses, boost employment, and attract both local and foreign investment in the agriculture sector
3.Green Corporate Initiative is all in for large-scale sustainable development. From agriculture and livestock to addressing food security, seed productivity, and biodiversity preservation, they’re leveraging modern tech, international connectivity, and financial resources to make it happen
4.Green Corporate Initiative and Government of Sindh joining forces! The Federal Government, through Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), will provide crucial assistance for Project success. Loans, grants, exemptions all in place for a successful and timely execution
5.Forming synergy: The Board of Management, comprising nine members from both Green Corporate Initiative and Government of Sindh, is set to ensure seamless Project execution. Regular meetings, inspections, and addressing hurdles are on the agenda for a successful collaboration
6.Green Corporate Initiative and Government of Sindh commit to appointing a reputable chartered accountant for Project bookkeeping. Annual audit reports will ensure accountability and transparency, reinforcing mutual trust in the partnership
7.In tandem with the Agreement, Green Corporate Initiative and Government of Sindh will establish District Management Committees for effective collaboration at the local level. Each committee, with diverse representation, ensures seamless coordination for Project success
8.Green Corporate Initiative, per the Agreement, holds the right to construct and maintain Infrastructure within the Project Area. The public retains access to traditional roads, ensuring harmony. Additionally, the Company can responsibly use local resources for Project Operations, emphasizing sustainability and community benefit
9.The Agreement between Green Corporate Initiative and Government of Sindh kicks in from the signing date, ensuring collaboration for the next two decades. With mutual consent, both parties can extend this commitment for an additional ten years, contingent upon satisfactory performance and procedural fulfilment
10.The land will remain owned by the government, which will be leased for 20 years, this land will not be sub-leased. The Cabinet may extend the lease for 10 years, after which there will be no extension.
11.This project will not only make millions of acres of land cultivable but will also provide employment and modern farming opportunities to local farmers
